Anthony

Dear Zeus,

Even though the thought of replacing your son Hermes is unthinkable, I believe I have the qualities to meet this overwhelming task.

How could anyone possibly replace the god of messengers, travelers, athletes in need even thieves and liars? He is such a complicated god but I know I have the will and the compassion to succeed at this task.

I have helped my family many times when we traveled short and long distances. While working in Dipietro's market, I swiftly delivered the many messages to the back kitchen. I've escorted people at weddings and at grade school and I have crossed many boundaries especially with my parents. Certainly escorting the dead to the after life would be no problem.

I have also been in a situation when I borrowed something from my sister and had to charm my way to a settlement. I'm told am quite good at that. Although I have not dealt with many thieves or liars in my 11 years, have been know to tell a little fib. I am quite cunning and would like to use my powers for good not evil.

I have enclosed my resume and can be reached by email or phone

Sincerely,

Anthony “HERMES”

P.S About the outfit the hat and sandals are not my kind of thing. How about a pair of Nikes and baseball hat? I look forward to hearing from you.

Anthony, it was interesting and thoughtful to say Zeus wouldn't want to give up his own son. -TM
